The Destiny Islands are a beautiful paradise where children laughter abounds. Day after day, Sora, Riku, and Kairi talk and dream of new places, new worlds beyond their islands. They ponder the usual questions that adolescents do-about the world outside, about their own existence. Little do they know a great destiny awaits them. One stormy night, a terrible darkness invades the Destiny Islands. Thus does their journey begin… Sora awakens in another world, in a place called Traverse Town. His hopes of seeing new worlds are realized, but his friends Riku and Kairi are nowhere in sight. Meanwhile, Donald and Goofy have also arrived in Traverse Town. They have came from Disney Castle in search of a “key” and its owner.

Their king, who has mysteriously disappeared, has left them a cryptic message: Now there’s somebody with a ‘key’ – the key to our survival… We need that key.” What is happening to this world? The “somebody” mentioned by the missing king turns out to be Sora. To find Kairi and Riku, Sora joins Donald and Goofy and embarks on an epic journey.

Sora
A fourteen-year-old boy and hero of the story.

He and his friends Riku and Kairi always dreamed of leaving the islands and exploring new worlds.

One fateful night, the Destiny Islands were torn to pieces and Sora was seperated from his friends.

He has vowed to find them through different worlds with Donald and Goofy to do anything to reunite with his friends and find a way back to his island (Destiny Islands).

But what happens when the journey becomes a challenge for the team? Will Sora ever meet up with King Mickey and his two friends?

Main character. Age 14. As a teenager he has his share of concerns, but he manages to keep an upbeat attitude. He may seem simple-minded at times, but he has a strong sense of justice.

Goofy
Goofy is the captain of the Royal Guard of Disney Castle.

Despite his position, Goofy is a pacificst who despises weapons.

He is a faithful and loyal friend who always follows his King’s orders, but not at the expence of his friendship with Sora.

In his first journey with the Keyblade Master, Goofy and Donald are on their way to defeat Ansem and put in end to darkness.

Will there ever be light again?

Will Goofy be reunited with the King, or will the note that he read once from the king be his last memory.

Where will this journey take Goofy and Donald?

Captain of the royal knights, a soldier who despises weapons. Under the king’s orders, he accompanies Donald on the quest to find the key. An easygoing, clumsy knight.

Donald Duck
Donald is the court magician of Disney Castle.

When King Mickey mysteriously dissapears he and Goofy begin a frantic search to find either him, or the “Key” that Mickey mentioned in his last letter to his subjects.

Donald is hotheaded, has a bad temper, and “gets stuck with all the bad luck.”

In his first journey with the Keyblade Master, Donald and Goofy are on their way to defeat Ansem and put in end to darkness.

Will there ever be light again? Will Donald be reunited with the King, or will the note that he read once from the king be his last memory.

Court wizard and loyal servant to the king. He embarks on a journey to carry out the missing king’s orders: to find a mysterious “key” and its owner. A feisty, impatient magician.

Riku
Riku makes his debut appearance in the original Kingdom Hearts title.

He is best friends with Sora and Kairi, who he’s known during his childhood.

Riku is also the oldest of Sora and Kairi.

In the first Kingdom Hearts, after getting separated from his friends during a terrible storm, he meets Maleficent and is tempted by the darkness.

Will Riku fall for what Maleficent is trying to get him into?

Will Riku fight off darkness and reunite with Sora and Kairi once again on Destiny Islands.

Age 15. He may seem cool and collected for his age, but he is far from the quiet type. Always curious about the unknown, he begins to question the small, closed world in which he lives.

Kairi
A young girl who is friends with Sora and Riku. Kairi was born in a world named Hollow Bastion, which is known as Radiant Garden.

Kairi later moved to Destiny Islands during her childhood where she met up with Sora and Riku.

Kairi was seperated from Riku and Sora from the darkness that hit their island during a stormy night that was taken over by darkness.

Kairi is now waiting for Sora to return to her.

Will Sora ever return with Kairi or will the two be stuck without each other for years to come?

Age 14. She moved to Sora and Riku’s island a few years ago. Though she may appear delicate, she possesses a strong, unyielding will.
