- The Mark of Mastery will not span the entire game.
- Street-Pass will be used for Dream Eater Spirit breeding.
- The main villain of the game is connected to the ‘Mysterious Cloaked Boy’
- The previous composers of music will return, even the ones from Birth By Sleep.
- The original enemies were to be Heartless and Nobodies, but that didn’t fit with the theme.

(NEW YORK, February 16th 2012) – Hope everyone has been up to speed with their dose of Kingdom Hearts this week! As of Wednesday, February 14th, Square-Enix revealed their latest trailer on Kingdom Hearts 3D Dream Drop Distance with extraneous amounts of spoilers. KH-Recharged will deliver its thorough and personal analysis of the trailer.

As the trailer begins, it picks up from where the Jump Festa 2012 trailer left off – Sora meeting a Vanitas-infused Young Master Xehanort.

The trailer then proceeds with showcasing the marvelous CGI opening scenes on memorable Kingdom Hearts moments such as Xion’s Disappearance from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days and both the Roxas versus Axel battle & the final Xemnas fight from Kingdom Hearts II (featuring Utada Hikaru’s “Sanctuary”/”Passion” number from both installments). After the amazing plethora of flashbacks down memory lane, we are shown numerous cutscenes from the various worlds we picked news up on in the past few months (i.e. Symphony of Sorcery, La Cite de Cloches, Country of the Three Musketeers, Prankster’s Paradise, & Tron: Legacy’s world). The model method used to design Tron: Legacy characters Kevin Flynn, Sam Flynn, and Quorra resemble that of Kingdom Hearts 2′s Pirates of the Caribbean models. Everyone here on KH-Recharged is anxiously anticipating whether or not the legendary Jeff Bridges will return to hoist his role as Kevin Flynn. And as a brief mention, Atlantica returns…

As for the gameplay section of the trailer, it brought about a particular aspect which intrigued us the most – the Dual Link between playing as Sora and Riku. Giving players this maneuverability further betters the experience to players new and old to strategically plan certain advantages with their allying Dream Eater Spirits. Brand new interactions with various types of Dream Eaters are seen, demonstrating a type of music-esque interface (as seen with D-links with Experiment 626/Stitch and the “Break Time” command from Birth by Sleep) and brand new mini-games that resembles a “Bubble Blaster” puzzle genre and a battle game that acts a lot like Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-2′s ATB system but with cards. To top off this section, the KH3D team decided to implement a special feature seen in the later installments – Dream Eater melding. This allows players to formulate various types of Dream Eater spirits to aid you on their quest as Sora or Riku.

And last but certainly not least, the spoiler plethora takes the wheel. The first thing we all love to point out is the curtain call for almost all of the previous characters mentioned in the series – Braig, Lea, Master Xehanort, Ventus, Xion, Terra, & Aqua. These characters who had only one game to debut in left an everlasting influence on us as either the heartfelt protagonists and sub-character reincarnations or the malicious antagonistic forces which thwarted the warriors from the Realm of Light’s mission to vanquish the darkness. Braig reiterates the same line he said to Xion as Xigbar in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days in Wonderland and the Young Master Xehanort does the same but for Riku’s line urging Sora to come with him from the original Kingdom Hearts. The character model textures never fail to impress as pencil and digital art excel in the world of game design with every hue and shading detail. With that aside, the last notion we all would like to add is the story. The cover heavily emphasized a “fall and rise” type of approach, where Riku was to ascend and Sora to fall. As for my own personal opinion, I believe Sora will have to sleep again to merge with Ventus and give Ven’s heart back. My claim can be easily supported from the last bit of the trailer showing Sora sitting where Ventus’s body rested in Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep’s Final Episode – the Chamber of Repose. But I digress, speculation stays with the loving fans until this game reaches Japan’s retail stores on March 29th 2012.

Information for the English renditions of Kingdom Hearts 3D Dream Drop Distance is eagerly awaiting to spread its wings to show the world what new features it has to give to the world in its international release. Stay posted with KH-Recharged for the latest on Kingdom Hearts news!

(NEW YORK, February 14th 2012) – Hello KH-Recharged! Fans have received a very special gift from Cupid (Square-Enix) today with a special trailer from Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance.

A complete unexpected surprise to the Kingdom Hearts community, we’ve received another new trailer which is longer compared to the previous trailer that was released during Jump Festa 2012. This “special trailer” runs almost ten minutes long with all new content. The trailer kicks off with “Passion” and runs with all new scenes. The ending appears to be a plot twist and has something to do with Sora. By the end of the trailer, Sora is the one joined with Organization XIII. Could it be that everybody who loves and cares for Sora needs to save him now? The mystery begins…
