(NEW YORK, May 19 2012) – Hello KH-Recharged! We have a special Kingdom Hearts merchandise update for all you fans.

New plush toys are currently in their design mode from the Kingdom Hearts series. These plush toys will include a Shadow from Kingdom Hearts, a Dusk from Kingdom Hearts II, and a Flood from Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep. The plush toys were designed by Nomura in a sketch that can be found above.

No other information on their price or release date as of this time. We’ll keep you informed on the latest.

Dream Drop Distance: Mark of Mastery Edition (Announced)

(NEW YORK, May 19 2012) – Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance is slated for release in North America on July 31 2012 along with the Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance: Mark of Mastery Edition.

The Mark of Mastery Edition is presented in a beautifully decorated KINGDOM HEARTS themed style which includes Dream Drop Distance, twelve KINGDOM HEARTS 3D Art Cards, five Augmented Reality (AR) Cards that unlock rare Dream Eaters, 360° display viewer for in-game Dream Eaters and a Nintendo 3DS Protector Case specially designed for KINGDOM HEARTS 3D.

The Mark of Mastery Edition will be available for $54.99. This is a special treat to all Kingdom Hearts collectors!

Sorry there’s been a lack of news coming out but Square-Enix is keeping things on the down-low for Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance in North America and Europe. However, it has been reported that there will be a demo for Nintendo 3DS systems that can be acquired through the Nintendo eShop. In addition, there have been several new screenshots featuring cast members from “The World Ends With You” with english texts from the final english version. Click ‘read more’ to see them all!

Game Informer: Interview with Nomura (June 2012)

(NEW YORK, May 7 2012) – Game Informer (video game magazine) has recently interview Tetsuya Nomura in their June issue.

As many fans know outside of Japan, Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance releases worldwide around July 2012. Now that the title has recieved SO much hype around Europe and North America, Game Informer has interviewed Kingdom Hearts director “Tetsuya Nomura” about Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance and the future of the the series.

GameInformer: What is the first element you create when starting a new Kingdom Hearts game?
Nomura: “It differs every time, but I usually start with the gameplay mechanics. At the same time, I work on the structure of the story and then flesh it out from there with the gameplay linked to the story.”

GameInformer: What was the visual inspiration for the colorful and cute Spirit allies and Nightmare enemies compared to the darker Heartless and Nobodies in the past games?
Nomura: I’ve always wanted to incorporate a system in which you can turn your enemies into allies. When I decided on having the story take place in the world of dreams, I needed a new category of enemies. That’s how I thought about creating new characters that can be added as allies. I had the team apply many different color patterns, keeping in mind that these are fantastical creatures that live in a dream world. Then, I picked the pattern that was the most colorful and stood out the most.

GameInformer: Would you ever want to see a high-definition collections of Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II similar to the upcoming Final Fantasy X HD remaster?
Nomura: I do have an interest in HD versions, and I’m currently researching them. If it is possible, I would like to do something about the series being spread over so many different consoles, too. I am thinking a lot about the future.

GameInformer: You released Birth by Sleep on PSP. What are your thoughts on the Playstation Vita?
Nomura: We have been invited to make games on different new platforms, and every time we have created titles making sure that they are highly compatible with the platform. The PS Vita is definitely a powerful device that is very interesting, but because of it’s high power, there isn’t much of a difference with a console. So even if we were to make a game, we would have to be very careful about how to create it for that device. I also feel that it’s about time that Kingdom Hearts should go back to being on a console.

GameInformer: What do you say to the segment of Kingdom Hearts fans that believes the increasingly complex storyline of Kingdom Hearts stands at odd with the child-focused Disney element of the franchise?
Nomura: First of all, this series is not intended to be child-focused, and so the complexity of the story is purposefully made prominent. That being said, with a series being around so long, there are a few items I have in mind so that a wider audience range can enjoy the experience. For the time being Dream Drop Distance, there is a new function called Mementos, and in the section called Chronicles, the player can read a summary on each of the titles from the Kingdom Hearts series. Whether you are just starting out or you have played all the games before and need a refresher, it has all of the key information summarized.

GameInformer: In recent interviews you hinted that Dream Drop Distance is the last game before Kingdom Hearts III. Do you see it this way?
Nomura: I’m not able to disclose any information on what’s coming next or any other future plans, but you may be able to find a hint if you play through Dream Drop Distance to the very end.

GameInformer: Square Enix has released several iPhone and iPad games both of new franchises and classics. Are you interested in creating Kingdom Hearts game or other titles for IOS?
Nomura: There is something I am working on, but I’m afraid I can’t reveal the specifics. I feel that there needs to be progress made on the tablet devices and there should be more games for that platform. I’m not sure which title this would come to pass, but I am researching about IOS as one of the platform options.

GameInformer: How is Final Fantasy Versus XIII coming along? It’s been nearly six years since it was announced. Why is this project taking so long to develop?
Nomura: We would like to ask for your patience on an official announcement for this title. It always takes time when tackling the challenge of doing something new, but we are doing our best to bring information to the fans as quickly as we can. Your patience is greatly appreciated.

Dream Drop Distance: OST Confirmed for North America

Back April 2012 the official soundtrack for Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance was released, which followed it’s title on March 29 2012 in Japan. Fans internationally will also have the chance to hear the FULL original soundtrack from Dream Drop Distance later this Summer. Dream Drop Distance: Playable Demo At London MCM Expo

(NEW YORK, May 2 2012) – Fans internationally are waiting patiently for Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance. Can we expect any demos before the game releases?

For Kingdom Hearts fans located in London, 3DS Buzz has confirmed that Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance will be featured at the London MCM Expo. This is a gaming event that is held from May 25-27 2012. The demo will be featured in English and will be available to the public.

Speaking of gaming event, we are getting closer to E3 2012. The Nintendo conference is set for June 5, 2012. Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance hasn’t been confirmed, but we’re sure the game will somewhat appear at the event. Stay tuned!

Dream Drop Distance Ultimania: Expect An Announcement Soon!

(NEW YORK, May 1 2012) – The Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance Ultimania has released today in Japan. The Ultimania is a special book that features artwork, strategies and extra content such as an interviews and a look at the future for the series.

In a new interview, Nomura explains that there is an upcoming project(s) that will be revealed shortly from the Kingdom Hearts Series. Currently there are no plans of a Final Mix version for Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, nor a Birth by Sleep (volume 2) title. A new Kingdom Hearts title is under development and should be announced something shortly. We’re speculating that new title will be Kingdom Hearts III…

We shall be expecting more information from the Ultimania later today/early tomorrow.

There’s an interview with Tetsuya Nomura in the KH3D Ultimania that went on sale today! From the interview:

They don’t have any plans for BBSV2 right now, trust your imagination with the Secret Message, there’s no plans for an FM for this title, the mystery KH project is stopped because they did KH3D, please look forward to whether the 7 lights are those 7 people, lots of things have already started happening for a new title in the KH series, and he thinks they will be able to make some kind of announcement in a relatively short time.There you go! In the interview there’s also ‘impressions upon seeing the 3DS, the way we brought in free flow action, the title 3D, choosing which worlds to use, about the new black-coated people in Organisation XIII’ etc. I also really really recommend ‘Ask Mr Tetsu everything! Scenario Mysteries’ for Nomura’s detailed commentary! KH3D’s Ultimania is pretty big, very much worth reading, go and buy it for sure!
